VFR Tour

Introduction

Welcome to the first Visual Flight Rules Tour of the Havanna FIR of the International Virtual Aviation here you have around 1200 nm of tour over Cuba it is mandatory to bring with you your camera and also if you like on the cockpit some Mojitos a Havana Club bottle or just a tamarind juice if you like to smoke before take off from San Julian don`t foget to take some Habanos with you. The main objective of this tour is to make you enjoy of your flight so we hope you do it.

Rules

  1. All legs must be flown in the right order, online, with real weather and in real time mode 1x acceleration is not allowed.
  2. The Alternative airport, Flight Plan, Flight Level or Altitude are recommended not mandatory.
  3. The maximum speed is 220 KIAS.
  4. You must use an aircraft not bigger than a B1900.
  5. You must fly under VFR and VMC.
  6. You must contact ATC or advise your intentions via UNICOM it is mandatory.
  7. Enjoy!

Take off from MULM (San Julian) and fly to heading south to join the South coast line of the island the turn left to heading West following the South coastline you will see to your right hand side the Isla de la Juventud turn right and join to the West coastline of the island turning to heading South and you will see MUSN (Siguanea). A035 74 nm  
2 MUSN MUCL MUCF Take of from MUSN (Siguanea) follow the South coastline of the Isla de la Juventud heading to East and then continue following the East coastline of the island and when you have in sight the South coastline of Cuba join it turning to the right to follow the South coastline heading East to your right hand side you will see MUCL (Cayo Largo). A035 79 nm

When flying over the East coastline of the Isla de la Juventud there is a restricted zone MU-R13 restricted to over fly from GND-MSL to FL150 check the NOTAMs, follow ATC instructions or avoid it by the left or right.

Enjoy of one of the best holidays location in Cuba with very good beaches and a great temperature alwast around 26 ºC, just enjoy Cayo Largo.

3 MUCL MUTD MUSS Take off from MUCL (Cayo Largo) and turn to heading East looking for the south coast line following the south coast line heading to the East you will see MUTD (Trinidad). FL055 89 nm

When flying from Cayo Largo to the South coastline of Cuba you will have to avoid MU-P2 prohibited zone from MSL to FL240 and MU-R3 restricted zone from MSL to FL80, check NOTAMs, follow ATC instructions or proceed with own navigation.

Trinidad is a 500 year old city which is one of the most beatiful cities in Cuba it have a unique style.

4 MUTD MUMZ MUBY Take off from MUTD (Trinidad) and follow the South coastline heading to the East and you will see MUMZ (Manzanillo). FL095 175 nm  
5 MUMZ MUGT MUCU Take off from MUMZ (Manzanillo) and follow the South coastline to the East and you will see MUGT (Guantanamo). FL095 120 nm

Be careful when passing the dangerous zone MU-D53 from MSL to FL450 you will also have to avoid MU-R56 (GND-FL300), P1002 (GND/MSL-UNL and MU-R55 (GND/MSL-FL250) around the Guantanamo naval base read the NOTAMs, follow ATC instructions or proceed with own navigation

6 MUGT MUBA MUMO Take off from MUGT (Guantanamo) fly to heading South and join the South coast line turning left to the East and then continue following the coast line turning to your left again to follow the North East coast line heading to North West you will see MUBA (Baracoa) over the coast line. FL075 63 nm  
7 MUBA MUMO MUMO Take off from MUBA (Baracoa) and follow the coast line to the North West you will see MUMO (Moa) over the coast line A015 35 nm Just enjoy the shortest and lower flight of the tour and dont forget your camera!!!
8 MUMO MUBR MUCC Take off from MUMO (Baracoa) and fly over the North East coast line heading to the West then join to the coast line of the "cayos" you will see MUBR (Las Brujas). FL125 230 nm

When flying over the coast line you will have to avoid MU-R26 (GND/MSL-FL230) ,MU-D32 (MSL-FL450) and MU-R23 (GND/MSL-FL300).

In this flight please don`t forget to bring your camera... this is the longer leg so relax and enjoy... at the North of Cayo Santa Maria there is one of the most beatifull coral reef of the world and the zone is just wonderful... Cayo Coco have one of the best beaches in Cuba.

9 MUBR MUKW MUVR Take off from MUBR (Las Brujas) and fly over the North coast line to the West you will see MUKW (Kawama) over the coast line. FL125 170 nm

When flying over the coast line you will have to avoid MU-R18 (GND/MSL-FL100), MU-R17 (GND/MSL-FL260).

Near of Kawama is placed the Varadero beach which is one of the best in Cuba with more than 20 km of beach of natural sand and crystal waters.

10 MUKW

 

MUML

MUPB Take off from MUKW (Kawama) and fly over the North coast line heading to the West and you will see MUML (Mariel). FL085 90 nm When flying over the coast line you will have to avoid MU-P10 (GND/MSL-UNL) and MU-P5 (GND/MSL-UNL).
11 MUML MUPR MULM Take off from MUML (Mariel) and follow the North coastline heading to the West and then turn left flying under visual references heading to MUPR (Pinar del Río). FL065 75 nm In the last flight of the tour you also will have the chance to do some photos of the great landscape of Pinar del Río.
